Tech for Exploration

Human beings make sense of the world through multiple senses and every human has a range of abilities in each of the sensory channels. And depending on many factors individuals use unique combinations of their sensory channels to achieve different objectives in every day life.  In this broad sense, every one of us is on a spectrum of abilities on each of these senses and where we are on the spectrum changes continuously through out our lives.  Thus it is unfortunate that assistive technologies are perceived by many as technologies for people with disabilities.

All such technologies must be viewed as mechanisms that enable  us to interact with the digital world with  the most appropriate combination of interfaces that each of us for every context finds suitable or effective. Everyone of us at some stage in our lives have been or will be 'disabled' in some sense or the other: fall from a cycle with a sprained ankle will leave us mobility impaired.

Assistive Technologies for All

We at MSR, are engaged in a range of projects that provide multi-sensory experiences with technology; though we specifically work with individuals who are on a specific ability spectrum in a given sense, we design the solutions so that it does not exclude anyone and further provides serendipitous opportunities for novel experiences.
